Kristan Abela

Kristan has worked in clinical audiology with a focus on hearing implants for adults and children since graduating from Flinders University in 2010. Kristan's early experience in audiology was gained at Healthy Hearing & Balance Care and The Shepherd Centre in New South Wales, before she was appointed Clinical Specialist at MED-EL Hearing Implant Systems in 2013. Kristan also worked at the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital, providing diagnostic and cochlear implant services to children and their families, before she transitioned to a fulltime role with Cochlear Implants SA in 2016. Kristan's expertise and leadership extends beyond clinical practice, serving as a Director on the Board of Audiology Australia from 2014 to 2018 and holding the position of South Australian Chapter Chair from 2018 to 2019. Before becoming an Audiologist, Kristan worked as a Registered Paediatric Nurse for six years in South Australia and the UK. With a rich and diverse professional background, Kristan brings both expertise and genuine care to her work, always striving to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
